La Concha stands out as one of Fuerteventura’s most famous beaches, thanks to the natural lagoon formed by its protective surrounding reef. This reef shields the basin from sea storms, making it an ideal beach for families and children. You’ll find La Concha in the fishing village of El Cotillo, near the El Tostón lighthouse, on Fuerteventura’s north-west coast. Rich in fish and other marine organisms near the reef edge, its waters are perfect for fishing and snorkeling. This amazing beach boasts fine white sand and clear, shallow water, complete with parking spaces and easy access points. However, the beach can become crowded on weekends, especially during the summer.
In recognition of La Oliva municipality’s commitment to providing amenities, La Concha in El Cotillo earned the Blue Flag award in 2010-2011. They equipped all their beaches with first aid stations, disabled access, public toilets and showers, information panels, and parking.
